SHREVEPORT, LA - If you are like me you might struggle to give your K-9 pals a bath when the time comes. My grand puppy Beau is a big boy and I have to bath him outside with the water hose. This process involves keeping him on the leash or he will bolt.

This is a tricky process. But this month, I will get a break as the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana is hosting a dog wash at Marilynn's Place on Fern Avenue.

The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana is staffed almost entirely by volunteers. There aren't staff members there that "just need a job" and are looking for a paycheck.  Every person that works is doing it because they love dogs.

The Humane Society hosts several fundraisers throughout the year to keep the shelter opened and supplied to take care of all the dogs they take in. They host Bingo events and much more.

But one of the biggest events of the year for the group is the Dog Wash event. It is happening this month at Marilynn's Place on Fern Avenue.

Even if your beloved pooch is an indoor pet, who's dog couldn't use a good scrubbing?  And imagine you not having to do it!  So not only do you get a squeaky clean canine, you're helping to raise money for a very worthy cause. The Humane Society is a no kill shelter located in Shreveport.
