
Shreveport Police Arrest Man for 2nd Degree Murder on Desoto Street
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, Shreveport police officers responded to a distressing call at 3127 Desoto Street. At around 8:30 a.m., they arrived to find the body of Kalisia Franklin inside her home. The scene was grim; the back room where she was found showed clear signs of a violent struggle. A Swift Investigation Leads to an Arrest
Detectives quickly identified the victim’s boyfriend, Jacobi Hughes, as a suspect. Hughes was detained at the scene and brought to the Shreveport Police Department for questioning. After a thorough interview, detectives had enough information to charge him with:
