
Shreveport Police Arrest Two Felons After High-Speed Chase
Yesterday Morning, the Shreveport Police Department arrested two people after a high-speed chase.
SPD Patrol Officers tried to make a traffic stop on a car that was driven by Cartez Thomas. Thomas took off in the car and led SPD on a chase throughout the city. Eventually, the car stopped and Thomas and the person in the passenger seat, Roshun Richmond, jumped out of the car and ran.
SPD was able to catch up with both men, and arrest them. Both Thomas and Richmond were found to be in possession of guns and drugs when they were searched. After running their IDs Police found out that they were also both convicted felons. Thomas had a conviction for burglary, and Richmond has multiple convictions from 2024.
Investigators also determined that the vehicle Thomas was driving had been reported stolen.
Thomas now faces the following charges:
· Aggravated flight from an officer
· Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
· Resisting an officer
· Possession of marijuana
· Illegal possession of stolen things
· Multiple traffic violations
Richmond has been charged with:
· Distribution of narcotics
· Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
· Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
· Resisting an officer
