Shreveport Teen Arrested for Fighting Police Officers
Just after midnight on June 8, Shreveport Police officers responded to a call regarding a disorderly individual in the 500 block of East 74th Street. The caller reported that a male was at the location, threatening to shoot his grandmother and other family members.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with 19-year-old Zaidden James. While attempting to take James into custody, officers were kicked multiple times. Despite this resistance, the officers successfully apprehended James.
James has been charged with the following offenses:
- One count of resisting an officer
- One count of battery of a police officer
- Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
- Illegal use of a weapon
- Possession of a Schedule I narcotic with intent to distribute
During the incident, James was found in possession of a stolen firearm and a significant amount of a narcotic substance. Fortunately, no Shreveport Police officers were injured during the arrest.
