When SPD got to the scene, they found 41 year-old Christopher Gallagher, who had a gun and was acting aggressive and strange. Officers worked fast to try and de-escalate the situation, but ended up having to physically restrain him to bring the situation under control.

Once Gallagher was taken in to custody, Officers took control of the loaded pistol. While Police were investigating they found out he intended to shoot someone he believed stole his keys.

When Police asked witnesses in the park about that situation, none of them knew what he was talking about.

From SPD:

"Gallagher was arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a firearm and violating the city ordinance prohibiting firearms in a city park.

The Shreveport Police Department commends the concerned citizens who promptly reported the situation and the officers who acted swiftly to prevent potential violence."
