Shreveport Woman Arrested for Home Invasion and Battery of an Officer

On Sunday, Shreveport Police Officers were called to a reported home invasion in the 2300 block of Merriweather Road.

As the Shreveport Police K-9 Unit arrived on scene, they saw Leah Petty, who was identified as the suspect in the investigation, actively fighting with a woman outside the residence.

As SPD Officers attempted to stop the fight, Petty allegedly threw an exercise weight at an officer. Officers were ultimately able to take her into custody.

The investigation determined that Petty had allegedly made unauthorized entry into the victim’s home and committed a battery upon the victim. Investigators were able to determine the incident involve members of the suspect's family.

Petty was arrested and charged with:

· One count of Home Invasion

· One count of Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer

· One count of Simple Battery

Petty was taken to Shreveport City Jail for booking following her arrest.
