Shreveport Man Wanted for 8 Years for Murder Finally Caught
A man on the run for 8 years finally caught in Texas.
Back in 2017 Shreveport Police got a call about a shooting on Line Avenue. SPD found 29 year-old Randy Taylor with a gunshot wound to his upper-body. Taylor was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Police started investigating the shooting and found out that 42 year-old Keithon Lovelace was most likely the one who pulled the trigger. A warrant was immediately issued for Lovelace and SPD were on the hunt. Police were unable to find Lovelace anywhere and it was assumed that he left Shreveport to avoid arrest.
Not long ago SPD got information that Lovelace was in Panola County, Texas living under a fake name. Police in Panola County arrested a man for drugs, and they quickly found out that the man was using a fake name. They did some digging and found out that the perp they had in custody was Lovelace.
From SPD:
"Lovelace has since been extradited to Caddo Parish, where he will now face charges for the 2017 homicide.
The Shreveport Police Department commends the hard work and dedication of our Violent Crimes detectives and law enforcement partners in bringing this fugitive to justice."
