SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police Department Continues to Remove Illegal Firearms from Our Streets

Through recent proactive patrols and targeted enforcement efforts, the Shreveport Police Department made several arrests involving firearms and narcotics.

On October 28, Shreveport patrol officers conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of 20-year-old Cameron Pennington. Pennington was found in possession of a firearm and narcotics. Upon further investigation, the firearm was determined to be stolen. Pennington now faces charges of illegal firearm possession and narcotics possession.

In another significant arrest, SPD Property Crimes detectives took Foster Anderson into custody on multiple burglary charges and for possessing firearms as a convicted felon. Anderson faces several counts related to both property crimes and illegal firearm possession.

On October 25, SPD officers arrested 37-year-old Namon Crosby following a traffic stop. Crosby was found with multiple types of narcotics and a firearm. He now faces charges for four separate narcotics offenses, as well as a firearms charge.

Further arrests included 20-year-old Markeal Beasley, who was stopped by SPD officers and discovered to be in possession of a firearm and narcotics, and 20-year-old James Swinney, who was similarly found to be carrying narcotics and a handgun during a traffic stop. Both individuals have been charged accordingly for firearm and narcotics possession.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to removing firearms from the hands of individuals prohibited from carrying them. Each confiscated firearm is secured, and, upon case adjudication, will be destroyed to ensure it cannot return to the streets.
