Shreveport Woman Arrested for Trying to Run-Over Woman With Baby
On June 23, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., officers from the Shreveport Police Department responded to an emergency call from a security guard in the 4200 block of Greenwood Lane. The security guard reported observing a female attempting to run over another female who was holding a one-year-old child.
Upon arrival, officers arrested Allison Walker, 22, after video evidence showed her attempting to strike the victim and the small child with a vehicle. The security guard witnessed the events and intervened to prevent further harm.
Walker has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines aggravated assault as an unlawful attack by one person upon another for the purpose of inflicting severe or aggravated bodily injury.
The UCR Program further specifies that this type of assault is usually accompanied by the use of a weapon or by other means likely to produce death or great bodily harm. Attempted aggravated assault that involves the display of—or threat to use—a gun, knife, or other weapon is included in this crime category because serious personal injury would likely result if the assault were completed.
When aggravated assault and larceny-theft occur together, the offense falls under the category of robbery.
