
Flash Floods and High Winds Hit Shreveport and Bossier City
Nasty weather rolled through north Louisiana on Monday. The storm system came with heavy rains, high winds and lots of thunder and lightning. The storm has caused problems in several neighborhoods in Shreveport – Bossier City.
What Problems Did the Storm Cause in North Louisiana
Flash flooding was a problem across the region. Police were called out to several high-water rescues during the storm. The nasty weather also left many residents without power. We have also gotten reports of several trees down.
The National Weather Service report the storms roared across the Blanchard and Greenwood area at about 6:30pm. That same storm swept across the area just south of Shreveport. It included 60 mph wind gusts and small hail.

What Communities Felt the Impact of this Storm
Inspection crews expect to find damage to roofs, trees and structures in several communities from Shreveport, Bossier City, Greenwood, Blanchard, Benton, Fosters, Cross Lake, Forbing, Barksdale Air Force Base, Ferguson, Bethany, Robson and Red Chute.

There was also another storm in northeast Texas that moved into south Shreveport and Bossier. This storm impacted communities in Harrison and Panola Counties in Texas and also southwest Caddo Parish and Central Bossier Parish.

1200 now in Louisiana are without power.

At the height of the storm we had about 5,000 without power in the regions.
