Shreveport Traffic Stop Leads to Gun and Drug Arrests
Shreveport Police arrested two armed individuals earlier this month after a traffic stop at David Raines Road and Pouncey Lane.
During the traffic stop, SPD Officers launched an investigation that led to the arrests of Jaylan Young and Marvin Young. Both men were found to be in possession of drugs and guns.
While SPD was running their names through the system, it was revealed that Jaylan Young is a convicted felon stemming from a prior firearms case in 2020. He now faces charges including distribution of narcotics and multiple weapons violations.
Marvin Young was found to be in possession of a stolen gun. He has been charged with possession of a stolen firearm, distribution of narcotics, and illegal carrying of a weapon.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to proactively targeting individuals who illegally possess firearms and engage in criminal activity that threatens the safety of our community.
Officers will continue aggressive enforcement efforts to keep dangerous weapons off the streets and protect the citizens of Shreveport."
