Shreveport and Bossier Trash Pickup Schedule Shifts This Week
If your can is sitting at the curb in Shreveport or Bossier City, you are not alone. Winter weather disruptions have both cities adjusting trash pickup plans, and the next few days will look a little different depending on which side of the river you live on.

- Friday, January 30: normal routes

Shreveport: No Pickup Until Thursday, Regular Thu-Fri Routes
In Shreveport, the city’s Public Works calendar lists no garbage collection Monday through Wednesday (January 26 to January 28) because of weather closures. Crews are scheduled to resume Thursday.
The city’s posted schedule keeps the rest of the week straightforward:
- Thursday, January 29: Thursday customers picked up on Thursday
- Friday, January 30: Friday customers picked up on Friday
For neighborhoods that typically run Monday through Wednesday, the pause ends after Wednesday’s closure, so residents should plan on their normal pickup day returning next week, starting Monday, February 2.

Shreveport residents with questions can contact Solid Waste at 318-673-6300.
Quick Tips So You Do Not Miss the Truck
Set carts out the night before when possible, keep them clear of parked cars, and bag loose trash so wind does not turn your street into a cleanup project. If your pickup day shifts, leave the cart accessible until it is collected.
