Not too many will have the doors open on Thanksgiving. We have found out that most CVS locations will be open on Thanksgiving 2025, but most of them will be closing early. So it’s best to call ahead if you need something in a pinch.
You will also find Bass Pro Shops open on Thanksgiving Day. But the hours will vary by location. Some of the stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.. But call ahead to check the hours before you venture out.
Dollar Tree stores will also be open on Thanksgiving, but with limited hours, typically from 8am-5pm. Dollar General stores will also be open on Thanksgiving. Family Dollar stores are also open on the holiday.
Retailers Prepare for Black Friday Shoppers
Back in the day, Walmart would be open for a bit on Thanksgiving, but that changed a few years ago. That change marked the first time the retail giant closed on the holiday and they have apparently made it permanent. And many other retailers have followed suit. They are all now gearing up for a rush of shoppers on the Friday after Thanksgiving when stores typically open very early.
