We have so many great options for "to go" meals. You can get this custom made for the number of people you are expecting. You can order turkeys or hams and all the sides. Of course you have to get mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, dressing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, rolls and so much more. I really like sweet potato casserole. And the big Thanksgiving item has to be all the desserts. Pies are huge this time of year. I'm not a big pumpkin pie gal. But I do love a great pecan pie. I also love a homemade lemon meringue pie.
Thanksgiving Prices Are Up in 2026 in Shreveport
Turkey prices are up by about 8% this year compared to 2025. One of the problems is that avian influenza is impacting production costs.
Cranberry prices are up considerably. I might skip cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving this year. Prices are up close to 15% because of a limited harvest and higher production expenses.
Side dish prices are also up. Fresh vegetables like sweet potatoes and veggie trays will cost you more this year because of labor shortages and higher wages.
We are seeing prices dip a bit on our dairy products. Butter prices are down 10% and you will pay about 6% less for heavy whipping cream.
