Airport Parking Reservations gathered data to see what cities were tops for travel during the break and 29 states put New Orleans as the #1 place to visit. The numbers show the Crescent City gets 120,000 average searches/month. The company researched the destinations using flight data and search trends.
While New Orleans tops the list, Puerto Rico is also very popular for travelers with more than 77,000 searches per month.
Why Is New Orleans the Top Spring Break Destination?
If I were a betting person, I would tell you this is data that is taking into account spring break for college students. New Orleans is a great party town. It boasts amazing night life with great music and 24/7 partying. And let’s not forget the incredible food.
What Are the Top 5 Spring Break Destinations?
Several other tropical spots also will draw thousands of spring breakers. Some of the other cities on the list are Miami, Cabo, Punta Cana and Maui.
For families in Louisiana, Orlando is also a top destination, but Hot Springs, Arkansas and Dallas, Texas also draw lots of local guests for at least part of the spring break week. Orlando has all the attractions surrounding Disney World and the big theme parks. Dallas has hundreds of attractions for families. Hot Springs has theme parks and great camping and outdoor activities.
