Woman Arrested After Biting Shreveport Police Officer
SHREVEPORT, LA- Woman Bites Officer During Vehicle Burglary Investigation on Financial Plaza
Today, Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a vehicle burglary at 5727 Financial Plaza. While investigating, officers encountered a female suspect identified as 36-year-old Tynishia Lewis, who became physically aggressive, biting one officer on the forearm and causing an injury that broke the skin. The officer received treatment at a local hospital and is expected to recover.
The suspect was arrested and charged with battery of an officer, second-degree battery, possession of narcotics, and two counts of resisting with force or violence.
Often, the sacrifices made by officers go unnoticed, but today we pause to thank our officers for their commitment to the safety of our community. Their daily dedication and bravery in the face of danger deserve our gratitude and respect.
