The multi-platinum selling rock band Kansas continue to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2024 with their "Another Fork In The Road" Tour. This week it was announced that the celebration tour will be pulling into Shreveport this year.

Kansas will appear at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, October 19th, 2024.

The band released their self-titled debut album in 1974, but didn't really take off until years later. Their fourth album, "Leftoverture", was released in 1976 and went Platinum four times. That album featured a song that would go down as one of the biggest songs in rock history, "Carry On Wayward Son". The song has repeatedly been around teh top of radio airplay charts for decades. It has been covered by dozens of major artists, and featured in numerous soundtracks for television and movies.

The band's other iconic song, "Dust In The Wind", was released in 1979. It was featured on the album "Point of Know Return", and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has sold over three million copies, and became the band's second platinum selling single. "Dust In The Wind" has been featured in multiple television and film soundtracks as well. Including the popular scene from the cult classic film "Old School" where Will Ferrell sings a rendition of the song.
