You need to make $93,000 to live comfortably in Dallas. That number doesn't get any lower if you're thinking about one of the other "Metroplex" cities. You'll need to make $92,000 in Arlington, and $90,000 in Fort Worth. Dallas ranks 27th of the 50 largest cities in the US.

Austin is known for being "weird" but they aren't known for being cheap. In order to live COMFORTABLY in the rapidly growing Cap City you'll need to make $122,229 annually. Austin is ranked 14th out of 50 cities, the party is always going on but somebody has to pay the tab.

Believe it Or Not, San Antonio is the least expensive of the Texas cities.

The Alamo City has the lowest cost of living among major Texas cities. Folks who make $80,175 annually can live comfortably there. You'll need a couple thousand more to make it in Houston at $85,804.
