Have you ever wanted to stay at a haunted hotel? If you've ever stayed over night in San Antonio, there is a chance you already have. According to local lore, many hotels in San Antonio are haunted, but one stands out above them all, and you can stay there during Halloween.

San Antonio is one the great cities in Texas. Rich in history, home to the Alamo, the San Antonio Spurs, the riverwalk, and really good Mexican food, there are many good reasons to visit San Antonio. But this time of year, those who are interested in ghosts turn up in San Antonio to explore and stay at some of San Antonio's most haunted hotels in the city.

And of course these are all hotels you can stay and enjoy. But one hotel is known not only as the most haunted in Texas, but as one of the most haunted in the United States.

The Emily Morgan Hotel, The Most Haunted Hotel In Texas

Rising above and standing beside the Alamo is the Emily Morgan Hotel. Built in 1924, it was originally used as a Medical Arts Building that housed doctors offices and a hospital. In 1976, the building was converted into office space, but was then transformed into the hotel it is today in 1984. According to the hotel's website, it is believed that at one time a section of the building was devoted to caring for those with psychological issues.

The Emily Morgan also stands on the site where Texian and Mexican forces fought each other during the Battle of the Alamo.

Back in 2015, USA Today named the Emily Morgan, the third most haunted hotel in the world. And yes, you can book a stay. In fact, they have a special going right now called "Room With A Boo". And you might even be able to request a floor. According to GhostCityTours, the hotel's 14th floor and 12th Floor are the most haunted.

I have not stayed at the Emily Morgan before, but I know people who have. Two of them said they didn't experience any friendly ghosts. While another couple I know, did hear odd sounds at night. So who knows what you will experience.
