Louisiana Float Rider Holds up Important Sign During St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When a parade rolls in Louisiana you just never know what to expect and a St. Patrick's Day parade Saturday in New Orleans was no exception according to a scene shown to us via Chris Welty's X page.
The parade Saturday featured a full load of floats all decked out for St. Patrick's Day festivities, and the revelers on those floats were costumed to celebrate the holiday.
The Irish Channel Parade began at around 1 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Felicity and Magazine Streets. Little did one parade-goer know that not only was she going to have a great time enjoying the parade, but her life would change.
In the one-minute video that Welty shared on the social media platform x, you can see someone approach one of the floats traveling down the road to get a closer look at a sign.
Someone on the float was holding up a sign that read,
Olivia, will you marry Alex?
Alex Swader is then seen getting down on one knee in front of Olivia to offer her his hand, life, and a ring forever.
Olivia is clearly shocked, but her response is the one Alex was hoping for as Olivia says, "Yes".
The crowd can be seen erupting in joy while Alex and Olivia start doing fist pumps in the air.
I don't know if anyone in the crowd, besides Alex and his friends, knew that something magical would happen on the parade route.
While we do not have any other details about the couple, we can say that we wish them the best in their future! And if Olivia's smile is any indication of her love then these two are destined to have a great future together.
Here is one of many traditional Irish blessings from theirishroadtrip.com :
May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace.
May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase.
May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past.
May your hands be forever clasped in friendship and your hearts joined forever in love.
Your lives are very special, and God has touched you in many ways.
May his blessings rest upon you and fill all your coming days.
Cheers to Olivia and Alex!
