Insider Claims – Here’s the Perfect Louisiana Powerball Ticket

At a convenience store just a few minutes away from the Isle of Iberia RV Resort you can purchase a Louisiana Lottery ticket. You can play a scratch-off game or buy a ticket for one of the lottery's "draw" games.  The most popular "draw" games in Louisiana are Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, and Easy 5. Those games offer the largest jackpots and they tend to get the most publicity when there are big winners. 

As I waited my turn to pay for my items at the aforementioned convenience store I heard a gentleman tell the clerk he had a system for playing the lottery. Both she and I leaned in to hear the words of wisdom from someone who certainly sounded as if knew something we didn't.  Here was his "system" for playing the lottery.

One, always spend the extra dollar for the multiplier. Two, always let the computer pick. Three, always check your numbers the day after the drawing. Fourth, have a trash can handy because you're going to toss a lot of losers in it.

I wish I had gotten this gentleman's name but his lottery lessons are pretty much a master class in how games of chance work. So, that got me wondering, is there any way to improve your odds of winning the Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, or Easy 5 that wouldn't involve breaking the law?

The Vegas Insider crew did the number crunching for the Powerball game and the numbers that have been drawn over the course of 2024. They analyzed the data and have delivered this informative graphic that you might consider when making your Powerball picks.

The top 10 numbers drawn for the Powerball lottery are below:

And while this information is "helpful" it's no guarantee that if you choose to use these numbers in your pick you are suddenly going to be thrust into a much higher tax bracket. You'll notice the team at Vegas Insider included the top ten numbers for Powerball. If you know the rules of the game, you are only allowed to choose five numbers between 1 and 69 for the "white balls".

The data also did not include specific details of which numbers are the most drawn for the Powerball itself. The Powerball numbers range from 1 to 26. So that would eliminate the numbers 69,31, and 31 from contention as a "red" Powerball choice.

The Vegas Insider crew also provided a table of numbers that were the least drawn numbers in the Powerball game for 2024. Incidentally, all the data from Vegas Insider was gleaned from actual Powerball drawings in 2024 and the data is current through October 10, 2024.

You have probably noticed there were quite a few ties in the "least likely" table. Again, use this information as research since nothing is guaranteed in any game of chance.

What is The Perfect Powerball Ticket?

If you are going to put all your eggs in the basket of data collection and mathematics your Powerball ticket should include the numbers,  9, 17, 19, 21, 23, 69. As we mentioned "69" can't be your Powerball pick but all the other numbers are fair game.

Saturday's Powerball jackpot for October 12, 2024, is estimated to be $364 million. That's for the annuitized jackpot. For the lump sum or cash payout, the top prize is an estimated $175.2 million.
