Lottery Confirms $30,000 Louisiana Win Friday Night

Lady Luck appears to have established a winter residency in Louisiana if you are basing that the state's recent good luck in both Mega Millions and Powerball multi-state lottery games. There have been tickets with winnings in excess of $10,000 in three of the last four drawings in those game. And Friday night's Mega Millions game was no exception.

Louisiana's string of good lottery luck started on Christmas night when a Powerball ticket sold in the state earned a prize of $50,000. Then on the following day a Louisiana sold Mega Millions ticket was confirmed. The state's lottery players did not get a big win in this past Wednesday's Powerball. Then last night, Friday December 29, 2023 another state sold ticket was confirmed to be a big money winner.

There were no tickets sold that matched the numbers needed to win the game's jackpot of $92 millions dollars and there were no Match 5 winners either. So, the Louisiana winner of $30,000 was one the last night's top prizes.  Only two other tickets earned a prize of $30,000.

Louisiana Lottery officials have reveals the big money winner was sold in Houma at Cash Magic Royal Flush on Main Street. The ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball. The ticket's purchaser also opted in on the Megaplier which was "times 3" for last night's game. That's why the prize is elevated from $10,000 to $30,000.

How Much is Powerball Tonight?

Since there was no winner Friday for Mega Millions that game's jackpot will jump to an estimated $112 million on Tuesday. The big one, however, is tonight's Powerball drawing. The jackpot in the Powerball game tonight is $760 million (estimated). If you took a one time payment your take would be $383.6 million.

There has not been a jackpot winner in the Powerball game since October 14th of this year. The Louisiana Lottery has also confirmed that there are three tickets worth a combined $200,000 that have not been claimed for previous Powerball drawings. One of those tickets, a $100,000 winner, will expire in just over one month.

Tonight's Lotto drawing will feature a top prize of $1.8 million and the Easy 5 game's top prize is $90,000. Both of those figures for Lotto and Easy 5 are estimates.
