There is a sign from a local Waffle House that has been making its way around social media today and it's left many fans of the 24-hour restaurant scratching their heads.

The sign basically says that on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays, from 11:30 pm to 6:00 am, you won't be able to dine in at Waffle House restaurants, and you'll only be able to pick up to-go orders.

Why the change?

In our search to find the reason for this change, Justin Easter, who works for Waffle House in Mississippi, said the pivot is happening due to safety.

"Any Waffle House unit that has security guards on the overnight shift for Friday and Saturday nights is going to to-go only," stated Easter.

"If the units affected by this don't have to-go windows yet, they will soon," he added.

Which Acadiana locations does this affect?

While we don't have the exact answer yet, expect most of the area's Waffle Houses to be to-go only during those overnight hours stated above.

On our social media page, we've heard from many in the community who have seen these same signs at Waffle House locations they frequent.

We're curious to find out how many of the 15 Acadiana area Waffle Houses have already implemented this new weekend overnight policy.
