
Former Louisiana Law Enforcement Officer Arrested for Theft and Malfeasance in Office
Louisiana State Police officials have announced they have arrested a former law enforcement official after he is alleged to have stolen thousands of dollars of public money.
What Do We Know About This Case?
Louisiana State Police Master Trooper Casey Wallace with the Public Affairs Section of State Police says the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and the Leesville City Marshal's Office asked the Criminal Investigations Section of State Police to begin an investigation in December 2024.
According to Wallace, the two agencies requested that the agency start a criminal investigation to determine who was responsible for the theft of $82,000 in funds.
Officials say that investigators determined that former Leesville Chief Deputy Marshal Kim Pollack was allegedly responsible for the theft of the funds.
What Was The Method of Funds Being Stolen?
Officials who released the information via Louisiana State Police press release do not detail the manner in which the funds were stolen.
The time frame for when the money was unaccounted for was between September 2022 and December 2024.
On Wednesday, March 26, the Criminal Investigation Division of Louisiana State Police was able get a warrant for Pollock's arrest.
What Charges Is The Man Facing?
Officials say that Pollock was arrested without incident.
He was booked into the Vernon Parish Jail on the following charges:
- Theft
- Malfeasance in Office
