Louisiana Tragedy: Motorcyclist Killed in Crash
Louisiana law enforcement officials were called out to the scene of the tragedy early on the morning of Sunday, March 30, after a man riding a motorcycle lost control of it and crashed.
What Has The Preliminary Investigation Revealed?
Louisiana State Police Trooper First Class Jacob Pucheu with the Public Affairs Section of Louisiana says officials were called out to Louisiana Highway 45 after a 51-year-old man lost control of his bike, went into a ditch, and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Pucheu says, according to the preliminary investigation report, the man was identified as Ronald Arnaud Jr. Arnaud was riding along the roadway when he ran off to the right of the road, and he suffered severe injuries. The man was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, but his injuries were too severe, and he died there.
What Else Is Known About The Crash?
Pucheu says Arnaud was not wearing a helmet approved by the Department of Transportation.
They are still investigating to figure out what caused Arnaud to drive off the roadway.
Pucheu says that officials believe impairment was a factor in this deadly crash. Routine toxicology samples were taken, which will be analyzed by a lab.
