Texas Lottery Confirms Million Dollar Powerball Win on Monday
When the Texas Lottery promotes its big winners on its official website you'll see the phrase "next time it could be you". That's the expectation that a Powerball player in Taylor Texas had back on June 28th when they won $250,000 and in Laredo on June 24th when a Powerball ticket sold there earned a prize of $100,000. You literally could be the bounce of a ball away from a life-changing jackpot every time you play the game.
They played the game last night, the game being Powerball and last night being Monday, October 21, 2024. The estimated annuitized amount in the Powerball jackpot at the time of the drawing was $455.9 million. The lump sum payout for Monday's Powerball was estimated at $219.8 million.
There have been 30 Powerball drawings since the last time the game made a jackpot winner. That happened back on Monday, August 12th when a ticket sold in Pennsylvania matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize of $213.8 million. That was then and this is now.
How Much Was the Powerball on Monday?
As we mentioned the jackpot for Monday's drawing was $455.9 million for the estimated annuity. Here is how that drawing unfolded:
Our sources at Powerball have revealed that no tickets sold for Monday's drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize. However, there were two tickets sold across the country that earned a Match 5 Million prize.
The Match 5 Million is when a ticket matches all five of the white ball numbers but doesn't match the Powerball. The prize in such a case is one million dollars. Should the ticket purchaser opt for the Power Play and score a Match 5 Million match, that ticket's prize is doubled to $2 million.
Powerball Creates New Texas Millionaire on Monday Night
In Monday's drawing a ticket from Florida matched all five of the white balls and a ticket from Texas did too. Our sources at the Texas Lottery have confirmed the Match 5 Million winner in Texas was sold at SJ 1960 Food Mart on FM 1960 Bypass Road West. That is in the city of Humble, Texas. Congratulations to the ticket holder and the folks at the store who sold the winning ticket. They'll get a nice prize too.
That wasn't the only big winner confirmed by the Texas Lottery in Monday's Powerball drawing. In total some 38,506 tickets sold for Powerball in the state were winners of $4 or more. There was one ticket that matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball but did not opt for Power Play. That ticket is worth $50,000.
Another ticket sold for Monday's Powerball matched the same prize scenario but that ticket purchaser did opt for the Power Play so their prize is $100,000 by virtue of spending that extra dollar.
What Were The Powerball Numbers on Monday Night?
Here are the numbers from Monday night's Powerball:

You'll want to verify those numbers at the Official Powerball Website and/or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Those sites have the official numbers listed and have a widget that allows you to check multiple tickets at once. You can also find important prize redemption information on those sites too.
What Were The Lotto Texas Numbers on Monday Night?
The other big draw game in Texas on Monday night is Lotto Texas with Extra! from the Texas Lottery. That game drew for a top prize of $31.25 million last night. There was not jackpot winner but 15 tickets earned a prize of $1,249 in Monday's drawing while another three tickets played the "Extra!" and earned a prize of $11,249. The game's jackpot will be an estimated $32.25 million on Wednesday when they draw again.
The Powerball jackpot will climb to an estimated $478 million on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tuesday's Mega Millions lottery drawing will play for a top prize of $205 million for the annuitized jackpot or $97.5 million for the lump sum.
