It is the second week of school for the  Killeen Independent School District. Unfortunately, there have already been some disturbing moments with a child who attends Reese’s Creek Elementary. A concerned parent reached out to me and explained a horrifying episode. The mother  (Kristina Case) of the six-year-old girl stated that the Killeen Independence School District allegedly mishandled transportation for her daughter. This Texas mother said she couldn’t find her daughter for at least 15 minutes and not only did this put her into a complete panic but how she felt Reese Creek Elementary handled it was completely coldhearted and careless.  .

Kristina explained to me that her child had opted out of bus transportation early in the year and when she filled out a permanent dismissal form for her daughter, it should’ve been clear that this particular episode should’ve never taken place. Case explained that when she went into a panic and spoke with the front office, no one seemed to care about her feelings at the time as if she wasn’t being taken seriously. After searching for her daughter, it was later reported that the principal handed Kristina a pass and explained that her daughter simply just so happened to be on the bus.

Of course, as a mother she became more furious, but instead of allowing that to distract her, she raced to the bus stop, and when she didn’t see her kid, she began to panic and fear for the location of her child. Case calmed down, collected her thoughts, and said to herself, let me go home and see if my child was there thank God, her daughter was walking around the corner. The principal allegedly took responsibility for the mishap. The reality was Kristina still wanted this to be brought to light because a lot of parents go through this every year. According to KWTX the Killeen independent district sent out a statement replying that "Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our students. The first few days of school are always a learning experience for students and staff, and the campus is working to tighten up its process to make, sure that when parents and guardians make a transportation change the day of that is communicated on time to teachers."

She explained that at the very beginning of the school year, she was picking up her six-year-old daughter early from school to most likely avoid the traffic that the after-school pick-up includes. The mother will remain anonymous and explained that fill out proper paperwork so she would. Christina explained that she filled out the proper paperwork for her child to authorize her daughter pick up and was even provided with a place card was sus specific number to be assigned to her daughter that way there was no confusion when it came to how the child would be making her way home.

The purpose of the place Card is to facilitate the quick identification of students and their parents for efficient pickup procedures. The mother explained she went to go pick up her child and a woman walked up to her in the attempt and explained to the mother that her child would be on the bus, now this frustrated Christina, the parent because her child Was supposed to be a child that was picked up. After the staff allegedly missed the parent's concerns.
