One Texas County Considered Most Boring Place to Live
"Boring" is certainly subjective- but according to Business Insider, this county is the most boring place to live in all of Texas, but is it warranted?
Sorry to folks out in Starr County in Texas, your county has been voted the most boring place to live in all of the state!
If you're like me, then you didn't even know where Starr County is! Starr County, Texas, is located in the southernmost part of the state, along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Starr County is part of the Rio Grande Valley region and is bordered to the south by the Rio Grande River, which forms the natural boundary between Texas and Mexico. To its west is Zapata County, and to the east is Hidalgo County.
The county covers an area of around 1,229 square miles. So why is it boring?
Here's why Business Insider thinks Starr County is the most boring place to live in Texas:
Starr County's total population is 64,525 and it has no recreational establishments. Pictured, Rio Grande City, which is in the county, holds the March temperature record for the United States, at 108 degrees.
Okay, so the heat definitely doesn't help. I've lived in Texas my whole life and I know that when the heat is terrible, there's really nothing you want to do but stay inside your air conditioned home, does that make me boring?
I'm sure Starr County, and Rio Grande City, is a very lovely place, unfortunately when it's stacked up against big cities like Houston and Austin, its recreational establishments are not up to the big city standards! Either way, we still love you, Starr County!
