The folks over at Shane Co. have rounded up the most popular foods in every state and, I won't lie, the one they named for Texas made me question everything I know!

American's have a long standing relationship with fried foods- and in Texas fried foods are king when it comes to comfort food; seriously, we're frying everything in Texas, and that includes the avocados!

According to the website, the most popular fried food in Texas is fried avocado tacos! I know what you're thinking, how can this be the most popular fried food in all of Texas when there's much more fried deliciousness like onion rings, or fried chicken! But, I can assure you that fried avocado tacos are a thing, and I have to say, they sound delicious!

Have you ever fried an avocado? Neither have I and now I feel like I've been missing out! Fried avocado tacos seem simple to make, just check out this video.

This is would be especially great for those who are maybe vegan, or maybe those who just love a good avocado!

So how did Shane Co. come to this conclusion? By using Google Trends, Shane Co. analyzed the search volume of 70 state fair-style fried foods over the past 12 months to determine the most searched fried food in each state and nationwide. Referencing Food Network, Southern Living, and Taste of Home, our list of search terms included 48 popular savory fried foods and 22 popular sweet fried foods.

Which means, at some point, fried avocado tacos were a hit at the state fair! Which brings me to another point, if you were wondering how fried Twinkies weren't on this list, the good news is that Shane Co. also found the most popular sweet fried food in every state, and good news, fried Twinkies still reign supreme in Texas!
