Sam's Club is doing away with their membership cards in Texas and all across the United States Of America ... unless you really, really want one.

Sam's Club recently announced their decision to stop issuing plastic membership cards when people renew their memberships, opting instead to have members use a digital membership card via their app.

They say it's meant to cut down on their use of plastic but if you just haaaaaaave to flash your card at the Sam's bouncer, you still can.  You just have to go the the customer service desk and tell them you want one. They don't come automatically anymore.

What If Sam's Is Out Of Cards?

If your local Sam's Club is out of physical cards, you will just have to keep trying each time you go there. In the meantime, your digital card will work. You do, of course, have to use your card to check out and to buy fuel at Sam's Club.

If you use the "Scan 'n Go" feature, you are already signed in and won't need to present a physical card anyway. Just so you know. That's per the Sam's Club website. Basically, you just have one less thing to carry around or scramble to find at the last minute.

The bigger concern for Sam's Club members, as far as I'm concerned, is navigating the weird, congested/gridlocked area around the gas pumps. I've seen the lines at the one in the northeast back up off the lot and cause traffic to stop on Diana. Don't get me started on that crazy maze at the west side one ...
