“Jersey Shore” Star Apologizes For Song
"Jersey Shore" cast member Vinny Guadagnino has issued an apology for a song released on YouTube containing lyrics about rape.
The song "Rack City Mix" sparked a storm of outrage when Guadagnino posted it on his YouTube channel Wednesday. The song includes lyrics suggesting a rape-fantasy theme, most notably:
"Yeah I'm takin' it ... I'm a get you naked b*tch ...
We can f*** and make it fit... boomin s*** and slatin' it.
Actin' like I'm raping it ...
f*** her til she fakin' it."
After complaints from such organizations as the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), Guadagnino released the following statement on his blog:
"I'd like to apologize for the rap. Was meant to be a funny take on an already 'dirty' song -- funny since I'm known as the 'good boy'...I work with many organizations to stop violence and bullying, and will continue to. It's something I strongly believe in. Very sorry to anyone I've offended."
He has since pulled the video from his channel.
