Kacey Musgraves claimed that her Twitter was hacked after her account liked a sexist tweet about Taylor Swift.

Musgraves Twitter account favorited artist Kid Rock's vulgar tweet about Swift and her political voice. Rock's tweet read, “Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl.”

Musgraves tweeted hours after her account liked the tweet in a social media post. “Yoooo - my account was hacked," Musgraves wrote. "I’ve been working all day and just got on Twitter.

Fans and celebrities were quick to defend Swift from Kid Rock’s vulgar post, including Rock's friend and collaborator Sheryl Crow and Chrissy Teigen.

After fans pointed out that during the hack it seemed as only the one tweet was favorited, Musgraves spoke out once again on her Twitter.

"Last week I was dragged because of how liberal I am and anyone that knows me knows how outspoken I am about equality & respect," her second statement read. "I've connected with Taylor - she knows this is NOT how I feel and we are cool. That was a manipulated image, (I don't even follow Kid Rock), and I would NEVER support any message promoting such misogyny."

Swift's Twitter account has favorited Musgraves' second statement.

Musgraves recently spoke out about gun control during her Lollapalooza set, the same weekend as the mass shootings in Texas and Ohio.

Musgraves' husband, country artist Ruston Kelly, created a cover of Swift's hit "All Too Well" earlier this year which earned Swift's stamp of approval. The most recent favorited tweet on Kelly's Twitter account is a tweet about Swift's upcoming album, Lover.
