After just one season, Khloe Kardashian is out as co-host of "The X Factor".

Fox released a statement Monday confirming that only host Mario Lopez would return for the show's third season, Kardashian's name was noticeably absent from the press release.

Rumors had been circulating about Kardashian's future in the show since February, when the New York Post that she had been visibly nervous during her experience on live TV.

Older sister Kim denied the rumors, however, telling TMZ, "A lot of people say a lot of incorrect things on the daily." Other sources told the entertainment site that judge/creator Simon Cowell "believes Khloe is definitely strong in certain areas ... and not strong in others."

Judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid will also not be returning for the show's third season. Demi Lovato will be re-joining Cowell at the judges' table.

Lopez issued a statement saying, “I’m looking forward to returning to 'The X Factor' team. We’re coming back stronger and better than ever and I'm excited to check out all the new talent.”
