The Krewe of Highland is kicking off their 20th year of Mardi Gras festivities in the Ark-La-Tex and tonight (Friday, August 8th) they're unveiling their royalty at their coronation at the Riverside Warehouse in downtown Shreveport. Doors open at 7pm and the presentation will take place at 8pm. $35 at the door will get you and, no, you don't have to be a member! This is a great chance to come out and see what Mardi Gras is all about in Northwest Louisiana since Highland is known for their over the top fun parties!

Captain Robin Drury told us that this year's theme is 'Let the Roaring Twenties Begin!' and as you probably guessed, tonight you'll see lots of flappers and gangsters! Party goers are asked to wear costumes or 'Mardi Gras casual.' You can expect to have a good time, enjoy live music from Gnarly Brothers band, food from Blue Southern Comfort Foods Catering and (of course) plenty of adult beverages.

Hopefully, we'll see you there with your dancing shoes on tonight! Make sure to keep checking back for pictures and coverage of the event!
