Lily Allen is reportedly back in the studio working on new music, which has been inspired by her family life and baby daughter, Ethel.

Although she has not released an album since 2009′s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You,’ she is said to have been penning new songs and planning a musical comeback. “Her life has changed so much since her last album and she now has a different perspective,” an insider tells the Daily Star.

The source added, “Lily wants a more mature sound and is penning tracks about Ethel and [her husband] Sam (Cooper) … She’s not at a stage where she can start recording but the new album is definitely underway and there’s a chance it could be released early next year.”

Three years ago, the 26 year old announced she was retiring from music. Allen wrote her feelings in a blog post, which has since been deleted. “Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record,” she said. “I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade. The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t (at this point) stand to profit from legislation, except future purchases of previously recorded material (which won’t be much).”

Allen suffered two miscarriages before giving birth to her daughter, Ethel, in November 2011. The singer married her husband five months prior at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England.
