Locals Brave the Weather to Honor Our First Responders

A small, but lively crowd showed up at Festival Plaza yesterday to honor our men and women in uniform.

Locals braved the chilly and rainy weather to attend our "Supporting the Shield: Honoring Our Heroes" event. The featured guest speaker was retired Army Lt. Col. Allen West, who stirred up the crowd with a rousing talk about the men and women who put their own lives on the line to protect us every day.

Other speakers included Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler, Jim Taliaferro with Caddo Crime Stoppers, Beau Migues with Bossier Crime Stoppers and DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle.
