The jobs picture is looking slightly better in Shreveport-Bossier and across Louisiana compared to last month, but still not as well as compared to last year.

Louisiana's non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 5.6% in November, down from 6.1% in October, but up from 4.9% in November 2012.

The Shreveport-Bossier Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)'s unemployment rate went down to 6.1% in November from 6.6% in October, which makes Shreveport-Bossier the metropolitan area with the highest unemployment in the state.  That number is up from 5.2% November 2012.

Within the market, Bossier Parish has the lowest unemployment rate of 5.2%.  Caddo is in the middle at 6.5% and De Soto parish is the highest in the metropolitan area at 6.7% unemployed.

During the same time period, the national not-seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate has improved from 7% in October to 6.6% this month... and better than the 7.4% unemployment rate in November 2012.
