Railroad Work to Close Parts of 2 Heavily Traveled Bossier Roads
Kansas City Southern Railroad has some work to do, but they will have to close a couple of heavily traveled Bossier City Roads in order to get that work done.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, beginning this Saturday, March 26, LA 72, which is Old Minden Road, south of I-20, will be closed at the Railroad Crossing in Bossier City.
This closure is necessary to allow KCS crews to remove and replace ties, panels and asphalt. This section of Old Minden Road is scheduled to reopen the next day, Sunday, March 27 at 5:00 pm.
But Wait, There's More
Then, on Monday, March 28, from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is advising all motorists that a portion of LA 782-2, which is Industrial Drive in Bossier City, will be closed.
Hey Airmen, This One Will Make You Change Your Plans
The affected area will be near the Barksdale East Gate entrance, so all Barksdale personnel and those who normally travel this particular area of Industrial Drive, will need to make alternate plans.
As with the closure over the weekend of Old Minden Road, this closure is necessary to allow KCS crews to remove and replace ties, panels and asphalt.
If The Weather Gets Bad, All Bets Are Off
As with all DOTD projects, the work will be done weather permitting.
