Registration is still open for filmmakers, but with rough cuts due in July some filmmakers need actors/actresses for their films.

Louisiana Film Prize allows short filmmakers an opportunity to win $50,000. That can prove difficult without subjects to film. So are you ready for your film debut?

LAFP's Facebook page is like a community bulletin board where you can get connected with filmmakers vying for the grand prize. Post your resume and head shot to their page and who knows, you could be a part of the winning film!

You may even win a best actor/actress award.

The best part is that you won't have to leave the SBC. The only requirement for the prize is that all films must be shot in Northwestern Louisiana. That being said, filmmakers are also looking for locations to shoot, i.e. land, houses, stores, etc. Imagine seeing your house or business in the winning film!

You can learn more about location requests on their Facebook page as well.

And just like in Hollywood, filmmakers have many other needs like hair, makeup, grips, catering, extras, support groups, therapists... Ok maybe not those last two, but you get it. You never know how you can be a part of a film.

Louisiana Film Prize gives regular people like you and me an opportunity to see the world through the lens of a camera, tell a story and win some serious cash. Shreveport-Bossier has been the hotspot of many Hollywood films since the early 2000s. A film prize in this area is a match made in cinema heaven.

If you feel inspired to do your own film, registration is still open, but don't dilly-dally. Rough cuts of your film are due on July 8.
