Wing Lovers Rejoice: Your Louisiana Hooters is Safe

The hot rumor online over the past week is that Hooters is preparing to file for bankruptcy and close stores all over the US. So, naturally, anyone that's a fan of the restaurant in Louisiana is a bit concerned - will my location close? How long until it does? Who has a suitable replacement for Daytona Wings?

Here's the good news - it sounds like all Louisiana Hooters locations are safe. At least for the time being.

Hooters Potentially Filing For Bankruptcy

According to numerous reports, Hooters of America is considering filing for bankruptcy in the very near future. According to Bloomberg, the move is to restructure the chain and reduce some its debt.

The report cites overwhelming debt and reduced foot traffic as the main contributing factor to the potential move and possible closing of some locations. But, unless you're just into financial news, you probably don't care about that. If you just love the wings and tacky atmosphere, you probably only have one main concern - will this cause my favorite Hooters to shutdown?

Louisiana Hooters Locations are Safe - For Now

Of the 410 locations nationwide, there are 8 Hooters in Louisiana - including one on the Boardwalk in Bossier City. So, if you're a Louisiana Hooters fan or work there, there's a little bit of concern with the news of bankruptcy and potentially shutting down locations.

But, there is some good news for us in the Bayou State. Hooters of Louisiana are completely separate from Hooters of America. According to a Facebook post from Hooters of Louisiana, the news will have absolutely no impact on the 8 locations in Louisiana. You can read their full statement below:

Hooters Louisiana locations are thriving and has been for the past 34 years! Hooters Louisiana locations are completely separate entities from Hooters of America. The recent news concerning the possible bankruptcy of Hooters of America, has no impact on Hooters Louisiana locations. We are proud to serve the local communities here in Louisiana, and will continue to support local charities, Children’s hospitals, School & sports organizations, and provide our loyal customers with the hospitality and service they deserve. Thanks to our great customers, employees, and Alumni we’ve been an industry icon and look forward to serving Louisiana for another 34 years!

So, while things may change somewhere down there road. Right now, it sounds like our local Hooters locations are safe from any potential impacts from a potential bankruptcy or restructuring.
