If you're like me and love this time of year in Louisiana because of the great temps and spring flowers, but hate mosquitos, you might want to consider growing these plants in your garden. Not only are these plants attractive to the eye and smell great to humans, but mosquitos hate them!

I'll admit, I'm lazy. I'm more of a container gardener than a flowerbed type of girl, but I have a potted lavender plant on my patio table this spring, as well as a rosemary plant and I haven't seen a single mosquito on my back deck yet.

Good to know, right? The best part is that you can find these plants at your local nursery, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, or wherever. I found mine at Tractor Supply Company and they're doing great. If you don't have a green thumb, you can also use the oils from these plants to avoid becoming a mosquito's human pincushion.
