Is this a story of a baseball team not living up to its potential or is this a story of the rest of the teams in the Southeastern Conference getting their collective act together for baseball season. The best answer, I believe, is a little of both.

The LSU Tigers baseball team is currently ranked in the top 20 in the nation. So far the team has yet to win a Southeastern Conference three game series. Tonight the Tigers take on the Tigers as LSU will be in Auburn Alabama for the opener of a three game series.

The Tigers of LSU are currently in 5th place in the conference standings . They have two conference wins and four conference losses.  LSU shortstop Kramer Robertson told the Louisiana Radio Network that now is not the time for the Tigers to start playing tight.

We can't go up there and press, can't get nervous and feel like every game is a must-win game. We're just going to take it one game at a time and go out there and play relaxed and confident and I think we'll have good results

Alex Lange a sophomore right handed pitcher will get the start tonight for LSU. He says,

The way we start out Friday, if we can get a "W" on Friday, it sets the whole tone for the entire weekend so we're just going to go out there and try to attack the zone, pound the strike zone, get some early outs and go deep in the game and try to save the bullpen as much as possible.

Barring any interruptions by weather first pitch for tonight's game will be at 6 PM Louisiana time. There will also be a game on Saturday beginning at 3 PM and the finale of the series will be Sunday at 1 PM.
