LSU Claims 8th World Series & Fans Win Jello Shot Showdown

The LSU Tigers baseball team has won its 8th College World Series title, and at the same time, fans of the team have won a championship for the team and set a record. Baton Rouge's baseball team has proved itself an unstoppable force on the field, while the fans have made an impressive show of how much liquor they can handle.

On-Field Dominance: LSU's 8th College World Series Title

The Tigers tore through the Men's College World Series bracket, facing only a real challenge against the Arkansas Razorbacks (6-5) in the semifinals. The finals saw LSU take on Coastal Carolina in a best-of-two series. The Tigers took the first win 1-0 and snatched the second win and championship 5-3 in the next game.

The Tigers Baseball team won its first World Series championship in 1991, now 34 years and 7 title wins later, the Tigers have proven to be one of the most dominant teams in college baseball. While the players get to say they won the championship for the fans, the fans have won their own championship for the team.

LSU Fans Dominate Rocco's Jello Shot Challenge

Celebrations weren't contained to the stadium when the Tigers won. The Tigers' devoted fans made history at Rocco's Pizza and Cantina in Omaha, NE. For those not in the loop, for years, Rocco's has hosted a Jello Shot Challenge for the fans traveling for the CWS. Which ever team has had more fans buy jello shots from Rocco's becomes the winner for that year.

In 2023, when LSU was in the College World Series for the 19th time, fans of LSU broke a record for Rocco's Jello Shot challenge. During the tournament, LSU fans had 68,888 shots and set the record. This year, LSU fans have made history again while not breaking their own record.

Up against fans of seven other top college baseball teams, LSU fans crushed 52,390 cups of jello and liquor in this year's CWS. Compared to every other fanbase, LSU must be absolutely in love with Rocco's jello shot recipe because every other team bought less than 10,000 shots.
