I think we all can agree, the 2016 presidential election was a wild, crazy ride.

Some people turned their backs on their fellow American, over opposite political views. Whether it was on Facebook or campaign rallies, the worst of people certainly came out (from both sides) and I think we all can agree that we're glad it's over.

In one of the shocking videos of the year, one guy did the unthinkable in a courtroom. Sadly, I can't imagine many mainstream media outlets running this story.

One man was sucker-punched at a Donald Trump rally in North Carolina. This week, the Trump supporter who threw the punch had his day in court and received a year of probation for it.

The verdict wasn't really newsworthy, and the day itself was just another day in a courtroom. That was until the victim in the situation came forward.

Instead of holding on to any anger or bitterness, which he would have rightfully held, he put away the negativity and shook the mans hand, and then they hugged each other.

I wish we saw more of this in America. The guy who got sucker-punched at the rally didn't have to show up and shake the man's hand. The guy who did the punching certainly was not owed the man's forgiveness. They put away their disagreements and came together as flawed human beings living in an even more flawed country. They hugged as two men, one who made a huge mistake and knew it, and the other who chose to forgive and accept instead of hate.

This video is powerful.
