Marine/Louisiana Cop Killed While Stopping To Offer Aid

Officer Michael Louviere, 26, pulled up on what he thought was a car accident only to find out when he approached that it was a shooting. Thats when he was shot in the back of the head. The shooter was the man who later shot himself on the side of the Crescent City Connection.

Officer Michael Louviere was also a Marine who served in Afghanistan and proud father.

"This was a coldblooded murder," Munch told CNN affiliate WDSU-TV in New Orleans. "Officer Louviere was shot in the back of the head; he had no idea what was coming."

The original victim in the car was Simone Veal, 32, of Marrero, Louisiana, pronounced dead at the scene, she was also 8 months pregnant.
