Meteor Shower to Fill Up Shreveport-Bossier Skies
An annual meteor shower known as the Lyrids Meteor shower will peak this week and should be visible to the SBC Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The Lyrids are visible every April and can usually be seen between April 16 and April 25.
NASA says the best viewing, approximately 20 visible meteors per hour, will be after midnight Wednesday and Thursday. It's also recommended that you watch just before dawn.
Weather conditions vary, which can affect visibility. Some viewing tips include leaving the city for the country and find a dark place to sit. Bring a comfortable chair to recline in and your patience.
I found this cool video on Youtube of the Lyrids shower of 2013 as seen in Canada.
