The Louisiana Office of Public Health made the tough decision to close the doors today at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport-Monroe Medical Center's emergency room over concerns of an infection that might be a public health concern.

According to WOWKTV, the Louisiana Office of Public Health and the hospital activated infectious disease protocols when an unnamed man who had recently traveled outside of the United States exhibited influenza-like symptoms.  Health officials were seen wearing face masks and turning people away from the emergency room doors this afternoon.

Officials from the hospital reportedly tested the man for Ebola because he recently visited Africa.  Those tests came back negative.  Once the testing was completed, the patient was isolated in the hospital, and the doors to the ER were opened once again.

There were no updates on the condition of the unnamed patient available at the time of this report.
