Hundreds of volunteers spent several hours Saturday to help cleanup all over Shreveport. Crews fanned out from the riverfront near downtown to the Martin Luther King Drive neighborhood in north Shreveport to pick up trash, clean up dump sites and spruce up the community.

Shreveport Green reports more than 40 groups stepped up to help for the Great American Cleanup. More than 700 people participated in the citywide effort.

The MLK Community Development Corporation won the prize for the most trash picked up. Congrats to that large group of volunteers.
