This, my hockey-loving friends, is awesome news. For those of us who were bummed out by a big delay to our Mudbugs' season, 2021 is shaping up to be a hockey-filled year.

Generally, in years past, the Mudbugs would play their first batch of home games during the month of September. Naturally, like all things, COVID-19 affected the NAHL and their season. The league chose to wait a little longer than usual to launch their season, and now we're in full-effect baby.

In mid-December, the mudbugs returned for back-to-back weekends at home in front of their adoring and rowdy fans. The games were intense and packed with 1,550 passionate fans during all four matchups.

Clearly, Shreveport has missed their 'Bugs, and it feels so good to have them back.

In the month of January, Shreveport Mudbugs fans will have no shortage of hockey, with seven games being played at home throughout the month. It's not just January we have to be excited about, though, as the NAHL has announced they'll be extending their regular season.

What this means is simple: MORE HOCKEY.

The NAHL will wrap their regular season on May 16th, meaning playoff hockey should be around through mid-June.

Hockey in June? Sign me up. GEAUX 'BUGS!
