The Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force says it's received complaints from area residents about phone scams involving local banks.

Victims are receiving telephone calls with a recorded message telling them that their debit card is no longer valid. Then, they're asked to provide specific account information.

Task Force members say don't do it. They advise residents to hang up and not provide any information. However, if you've already provided information, you're asked to contact your financial institution immediately.

The scam is also happening in south Louisiana.
